Hello my Peeps! Liza B here.
2/24/23: It’s been a long while since I’ve engaged here on my beloved website. So much has happened since then, that I almost don’t know where to pick up the thread, the story of Tapestry Road. I’ll try to keep you engaged, and give you bite-sized blog posts. This being the first of many.
In 2020, I took a leap of faith, and began the process of recording an album, with a wild proposal to the incredible Peter Calo. (Check out his website with the link) “Would you be willing to work with me to write a top-selling album?” I asked. He laughed, and said that no one had ever approached him in that way before, and then he said yes! I was over the moon! He’s Carly Simon’s guitarist! His music is beautiful!! I had no idea how I was going to pull off a hit album, but with Peter at my side I stood a chance.
And as I always told my girls, “Somehow, Someway.” I was gonna make it.
The first time I went to his recording studio was at the beginning of covid. We weren’t sure how it was going to work out, but we knew it would be fine. That said, singing through a mask is not ideal. LoL! Thankfully, over time we were able to remove the masks, which eased communication greatly. Having never worked together, I initially drove him crazy, until he realized how my creative process worked. With time, we developed a rhythm and understanding. He taught me some finer nuances of singing in the studio, and guided me through the process on a weekly basis. And Tapestry Road began taking shape over the course 2020.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I’d like to introduce to you: prolific guitarist, bassist and all-round musician, my friend, co-writer and producer of my first album, Tapestry Road, Mr. Peter Calo!
Until Next Time,
Liza B
