Liza B’s Story

She placed her red stilettos on that hallowed ground…

Liza B is a Goddess, born of moonshine, sea song and fairy dust. 1/2 Kraken, 1/2 Mermaid, she hangs out with fairies, and paints the sky. A Jazz-fusion songbird, with a whiskey-edged voice, she loves to mix up songs and genres and make them her own.

Originally from Huntington Beach, CA, Liza B moved to the suburbs of Manhattan with her husband and two daughters in 2002. An avid singer, who always dreamed of having her own band and show, she was inspired to follow her daughters’ examples of them “living their best lives.” She remembered a rumor that the yellow brick road, written about in the stories of Oz by L. Frank Baum, was near her house. So she grabbed a friend, her favorite red stilettos and went to go find it. When she finally found it, she placed her shoes on that hallowed ground, stepped into them and declared that moment the beginning of her journey. That afternoon, she went home and applied for college.

While attending Purchase College in New York, she studied under such notables as Jazz vocalist & professor, Alexis Cole, playwrite & LGBTQ activist, Janis Astor de Vallé, cinematographer Alan Smith and orchestral-philharmonic director, Lawrence Tamburri. During that time, she developed the Red Stiletto Cabaret series, and established her band, the Daydreamerz, inspired by her belief in dreams. Two years later, in May 2020, she graduated magna cum laude, with a Liberal Arts degree in Independent-Arts Production & Management. To make it even more interesting, she graduated during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Liza B has performed in Stockholm, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Los Angeles. She’s sang in parks, at bonfires, county fairs, subways, hip-hop nights, the NY Marathon (7 years) and more. During the 2020 quarantine, she and her husband, Anders, created Living Room Lounge; a live series to provide friends and family a little relief from the boredom. In July she partnered with the owner of a local restaurant, to create a socially-distanced, outdoor, live-music series. In so doing, it brought in musicians and diners in a safe setting, creating a win-win for everyone. This series just wrapped up in October.

Now that the cool weather has arrived, she’s working on her first album, with plans to film and record both music and videos in Rio de Janeiro in March 2021. She is also preparing to launch her first crowdfunding campaign to fund her upcoming album and videos.
